I arrived in USA in 1976 Dec and changed my speciality from OB Gyn (in India) to Diagnostic Radiology with subspeciality in Pediatric Radiology in USA. I worked in Ann Arbor Michigaan before moving to Chicago in 1984. Since 1984 have resided in Chicago and currently am Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. I have always been in academic radiology and hence got involved in several research projects. I have been President of Illinois Radiologic society and Indian American Medical Society of Illinois. My spiritual interests lead me to being involved in persuing vedantic philosophy at Chinmaya Mission where I remained as an executive committee member for several years. It was here that I discovered my flair for writing and directing short and long plays. On the atheletic front my interest lay in playing Tennis, until sadly one day my tennis partner Dr. Shashi Malhotra wife of Dr. Jayant Malhotra (both from MAMC) succumbed to pancreatic cancer. My husband Suresh Vade works in a rehabilitation institute for mentally challenged individuals and this gives him a lot of spiritual satisfaction which persuades him to continue working even at the age of 71 years. I cannot be more proud of my daughter, son and son in law for being wonderful people. Even though they have achieved much in their respective fields I am waiting for them to do some more with time. My grand children are the love of my life and are so adorable that even their mischevious pranks and their routine accomplishments in school, sports and other extracurricular activities seem like big accomplishments in my eyes.
